The Birmingham HiCrEc Awards, The Drum, 144 Potters Lane, Aston, Birmingham, B6 4UU, Saturday 8th Nov, 7pm This is the 2nd Annual HiCrEc Awards for Birmingham on Sat 8th Nov from 7pm @ The Drum. HiCrEc stands for the Hidden Creative Economy and recognises those community pioneers who have laid the foundations of our cultural & creative industries for at least the past 20 years without mainstream support or recognition. We want to remember those pioneers who were instrumental in our cultural development when many of the art forms were illegal and were shunned by the mainstream such as sound systems, community event promoters and performers. For the first time we will also be recognising the contribution of those involved in sport who have had very little recognition for their work. We will accept nominations throughout October & they can be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org or texting 07932 949 319. Tickets are available from the Drum or from Bob Baker on 07947 380 426
